WAEC GCE Result 2021/22 out!

WAEC GCE Result is out. The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has released the 2021/2022 GCE Results (January/February 1st Series WASSCE) for Private Candidates.

Ninety-Four Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-Four (94,884) candidates took the exam and 49,679 candidates representing 52.36% obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five (5) subjects (with or without English Language and/or Mathematics while 33,304 candidates obtained credits and above in a minimum of five (5) subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

How to Check WAEC GCE Result.

  1. Go to WAEC result checking portal @ www.waecdirect.org ↱ .
  2. Enter your 10-digit WAEC Examination Number. (This is your 7-Digit centre number followed by your 3-digit candidate number eg. 4123456789)
  3. Enter the 4 digits of your Examination Year eg. 2010
  4. Select the Type of Examination i.e. PRIVATE CANDIDATE RESULT
  5. Enter the Card Serial Number found on the reverse side of your Scratch card.
  6. Enter the Personal Identification Number (PIN) on your Scratch card
  7. Click Submit and wait for the results window to come up

Hint: you can only use your result checker 5 times, so be wise!

Candidates Performance In the GCE Result

Olu Adenipekun at a press briefing disclosed that it is Ninety-Four Thousand Eight Hundred and Eighty-Four (94,884) candidates that took the exam. Out of which 49,679 candidates representing 52.36% obtained credit and above in a minimum of any five (5) subjects (with or without English Language and/or Mathematics while 33,304 candidates obtained credits and above in a minimum of five (5) subjects including English Language and Mathematics.

He further stated that 91,225 candidates have their results fully processed and released while 3,659 candidates have a few of their subjects still being processed.

9,457 candidates were reported to have been involved in one form of examination malpractice or the other, and their cases will be presented to the appropriate Committee of Council and the decision of the Council on their cases will be communicated to the affected candidates within the shortest possible time.

Mr. Olu Olanipekun revealed that beginning with the WASSCE for Private Candidates, 2019-Second Series, the collection of certificates would be based on requests by candidates online.


Candidates can check their results on the council’s website: www.waecdirect.org with their Result Checker PIN and Serial Number contained on the candidate’s Smart Identity Card used during the conduct of the examination
