How to Answer Waec English Comprehension Questions

The very first thing I personally look for in a passage is the length, my biggest error. When you see a passage forget the length of the article and whatever you think you know concerning the subject or topic being discussed.

Do not be in a hurry to answer your comprehension passage without taking time to understand the passage.

Firstly, read through the questions to be answered:

Do you think you need to read the whole passage to answer a comprehension question?

In english language, there are some questions you can answer without actually reading through full the Comprehension.

If you have this at heart, you will be preparing to answer those questions in no time.

secondly, make up your mind to read the passage three times:

While reading the first time make it so fast, let your eyes move down really fast, this will help you crap the comprehension preview.

Now minimize the speed you care reading in the second phase.

Read slowly the passage word by word in the third phase and this time take sufficient time to get a fair share of the understanding. While reading try to provide answers to the question you first saw earlier.

Thirdly, Attempt those questions with confidence:

Most at times comprehension questions are asked paragraph by paragraph. Read the first and last sentences of each paragraph carefully.  Then try to answer the questions! Most of the questions can be answered just by knowing about these sentences.

If the first and last sentences did not seem to help, try to find the important words of each question and answers and then go to the passage again and try to find them. Most of the answers are in the sentence with that keyword or the sentences before or after the it.

When Answering Waec English Comprehension Questions Do this
