1. Walk Before you go to Examination Hall:

Exercise has been shown to increase the brain and memory. Research conducted at Illinois University by Dr. Chuck Hillman shows that approximately 20 minutes’ workout will boost performance before the test. So get up and walk around and stop sitting down.

2. Talk out loud rather than read it plainly:

3. Avoid Cramming:

Studying materials over a number of sessions gives you the time you need to adequately process information. Research has continuously shown that students who study regularly remember the material far better than those who do all of their studying in one marathon session.

Don’t wait 1 week to exam to start studying as a matter of fact you should study daily to see a great improvement in your memory and thinking capacity.

Attention is one of the major components of memory. In order for information to move from your short-term memory into your long-term memory, you need to actively attend to this information. Try to study in a place free of distractions such as television, music, and other diversions.

Drawing diagrams can help you imagine data that would be difficult to explain, especially subject like Biology and Geography all coupled with mathematics.

Diagram produces a visual memory in your mind that can be remembered during an exam. Perhaps In your exam, you might also be asked to draw or mark diagrams such as the human heart. So pick that pencil and start drawing.


7. Pay Extra Attention to Difficult Information:

It is very easy to remember information in the beginning of a book or chapter than the end, while the middle of the book or chapter is slightly difficult to remember. this is as a result of what is know as serial position effect.

Here is what you should do to recall very fast, spend extra time rehearsing the information you study and Another strategy is to try restructuring what you have learned so it will be easier to remember.

When you come across an especially difficult concept, devote some extra time to memorizing the information.


8. Google Search Like a Pro

Even in our modern world today, some folks don’t know how to search for information on the internet.

The world’s biggest search engine, Google can be handy when it comes to providing updated information but what matters is how you search for that information. Here are few tips for searching on Google:

  • On top of every search, you will see tabs like web, image, news, etc.
  • If you are looking for images, use the image tab. If you are looking for news, use the news tab, etc.
  • Use quotes Spelling doesn’t really matter.when searching for something specific to minimize irrelevant results.
  • Exclude words using hyphen
  • Use a colon to search for specific sites
  • Spelling doesn’t really matter.


9. Take frequent breaks from the study

You must take daily study breaks while your brain is running, to help your brain absorb more knowledge, but also to keep you motivated and concentrated during your study. Take a short break in 45-50 minutes of study, because, after this time, your attention and concentration will get reduced. Nothing new is assimilated after 1 hour and 30 minutes.


10. Sleep sleep and sleep!


To improve your memory, sometimes a good nap can solve the problem. Research has shown that taking a nap after you learn something new can actually help you learn faster and remember better.
